From Our President

It’s hard to believe its June already and this year is almost half over. Your chapter officers started out with some aggressive goals for the year.

1) We set our Run for the Son (RFTS) fund raising goal at $3,000 again this year like we had the previous two years.

2) Set up our CMA tents at more events and think outside the box.

3) Do more church visits and church promos.

The thought being by combining these three things we will accomplish more for the Lord and grow the chapter at the same time. We did have some chapter members move out of the area last year and we are always looking for different ways to increase our numbers. By doing more church promo’s we not only got the word out about the world wide reach of CMA and our ministry partners we ended up raising a new chapter total at $3,218.00 surpassing our goal! We have done more church promo’s than any year before and still have more to do. If you were not aware, for every dollar raised for RFTS 10 people will hear the gospel of Christ and at least one will accept Him as Lord and Savior. So basically a $1.00 bill equals a new soul in heaven. We don’t just depend on the ride to raise funds we look for ways all year long like yard sales, Belk charity sale, etc.

We have joined forces with Bikers for Christ and their Downed Bikers ministry by volunteering to do hospital visits to injured bikers in our area hospitals. This is something we do anyway but by staying in contact with them we find out about bikers we would not have known were in our area like Steve McAdoo who lost his lower right leg in an accident last month.

If you were not aware there is a state wide chapter competition divided into areas. Our area reps are Bobby & Chris Seymour and our name is Seymour’s Strike Force. There are 22 different categories we are tracking for this like bike blessings, church visits with CMA promo’s, hold a chapter bible study, etc. The competition will end at the State Rally in September in Black Mountain. By the way, one of the categories is to pre-register for the state rally so if you plan on attending it would help us out if you would pre-register. Contact me for the form ASAP!

In Doyle’s comments as our excellent chapter Vice President, he talks about some of the events we have gone to recently but he forgot to mention that he won a trophy with his trike at the Summerfield Cruz-In. Congratulations are in order, just one of the benefits of going to events and participating to help support their cause. In this case it was to help send two of our chapter members to Guatemala!

Thank you for being involved in the ministry of CMA as we change the world one heart at a time!
